This Week’s Highlights

Speaker: Mr. Till Martin
A tour to the new Hyatt Regency Wangjing

The Rotary Club of Beijing (RCB) received an invitation from our friend and frequent guest Till Martin, General Manager of the new Hyatt Regency in Wangjing, to visit his hotel and enjoy a tour, followed by a lunch, of his hotel – before it even opened to the public. Approximately 20 RCB members gladly accepted the invitation and got to inspect this new “urban forest” designed by globally renowned architect Kengo Kuma and Associates. Mr Martin took his time to show us around the various areas that constitute a hotel – rooms and suites in different layouts, the restaurants, the kitchen, the SPA area, and the impressive ball rooms, entertaining his guests with an enjoyable style of communication and his deep knowledge on details about his hotel.

Mr Martin and his team were kind and generous hosts, and invited Rotarians and visitors to a delicious lunch buffet, allowing us to donate more happy money. An uncommon, but very pleasant last RCB meeting before the end of the (Chinese) year.

2017/2018 Rotary Red Lantern Banquet and China Conference
A letter from President Russell

Dear Rotarians,

We are trying to get an initial idea of attendees for the Red Lantern Banquet and the China Conference by close of business 10th February. This is also the last day where you can book for both and as such be able to attend the China Conference for free (compliments of kind sponsorship by SR Frank). As such, please can you all confirm your attendance by emailing to events@lehmanbrown.com, and by paying either cash or weichat to Celine in due course after making the reservation. We also encourage you to bring your friends as this is a community event for Rotarians and potential Rotarians.

The event has a six course fusion dinner with fine wines, Chinese themed cocktails to start, the Dulwich choir singing, a jazz band playing low and high tempo tunes, a Chinese singer, auction and silent auction, raffles and much more.

With the other clubs and also attendees from the great community, we expect that the event will be well attended, but we need our club to support it, as it is our event. We also need to show support for the first China Conference to be held in Beijing. I therefore ask you all to stop being lastminute.com and to make your reservations.

For RCB Members: RMB 1300 !!!
For visiting Rotarians: RMB 900

Thank you
President Russell
